Connect any device with HDMI or DisplayPort to your XREAL Glasses. HDMI or DisplayPort to USB-C and USB-C to HDMI or DisplayPort cables typically run in one direction only. You can't switch opposite sides and expect same results.
HDMI or DisplayPort to USB-C Direction: From a device with HDMI or DisplayPort output (like a game console or Blu-ray player) → to a display with USB-C input (XREAL Glasses).
USB-C to HDMI or DisplayPort Direction: From a device with USB-C output (like a phone, laptop, or tablet) → to a display with HDMI or DisplayPort input (like a TV or monitor).
An HDMI to USB-C adapter with power is recommended to ensure the XREAL Glasses run reliably without issues. While they may function with a non-powered adapter, using one with power ensures the glasses receive sufficient voltage for stable performance.
🛈 Note: Most HDMI or DisplayPort devices using adapters, cables, or hubs may require you to switch the audio protocol from UAC Audio to DP Audio for the glasses to output sound. Some HDMI devices force RGB Full Range, which can make the image look faded, grayish, and low-contrast, especially in dark scenes. Switching to UAC audio mode makes the device use RGB Limited, restoring proper colors — but you may not get audio on some sources.

LD39 is an implementation of the MHL standard, typically marketed as an easy way to mirror compatible phones without USB DP Alt to external displays.
MHL is an outdated video/audio interface standard that allows compatible phones without USB DP Alt to output video to external displays through phone's charging port.

Dual Screen USB-C DP Adapters
Note: Most dual USB-C display hubs may have issues outputting audio to the second display depending on the OS you are using.
Sound issues are discussed in this Reddit post and in the comments of this related Reddit post.
You might be able to find a workaround for your specific OS to get audio working on both displays at the same time.
Alternative Solution: Use Bluetooth earbuds or another audio output device to bypass second display audio routing issues.
Android users: You can use an app like ShizuTools, which requires Shizuku. ShizuTools includes a feature called SoundMaster that lets you route an app to multiple audio sources. This is done per app. You simply add the same app two or more times depending on how many audio outputs you want, then control each display’s audio independently.
Note: When you tap SoundMaster, a popup notification will appear instead of opening the settings directly. Tap that notification to manage multiple outputs for different apps and control how the audio is routed.
I recommend using the special Shizuku build that includes Start on boot and Watchdog. You can enable both from the settings icon in that version of Shizuku. These help keep Shizuku running reliably in the background.
Note: Make sure battery optimization is disabled for both Shizuku and ShizuTools so they can run properly in the background.
macOS users: You can check this YouTube guide for the built in method using Audio MIDI Setup on macOS.
Windows users: You can check this YouTube guide for the built-in method in Windows 10/11 or other compatible versions of Windows. If that doesn’t work well for you or you want more control, you can try software like Voicemeeter Banana or Virtual Audio Cable (VAC).

Compatible Nintendo Switch 2 Dockless Adapters
These adapters support 20V output, the MyDP protocol, and/or offer firmware updates that allow the Nintendo Switch 2 to connect directly to XREAL glasses, without needing the Switch 2 HDMI TV Dock.
Note #1: Adapters need to support Nintendo’s proprietary USB-C authentication and its custom DisplayPort Alternate Mode (with 20 V (not 20W) power delivery) in order to work without the official HDMI TV Dock. Devices like the XREAL Beam cannot gain compatibility through firmware updates, as they lack the required 20V support.

Note #2: When you connect these dockless adapters to the Nintendo Switch 2, the console thinks it’s in dock mode. This means you can’t use the Joy‑Cons while they’re attached. You’ll either need to use the Joy‑Cons detached or try a workaround to keep them attached, like the one this YouTuber demonstrated.
Note #3: Nintendo Switch 2 firmware updates may break compatibility with some hubs or adapters. Contact the brand or seller to see if firmware updates are available.

Note #3: Please make sure before performing an update to this hub that the PID # at bottom left corner shows PID #2207. If PID # shows as something else and you perform the update, you may end up bricking the hub and won't get a display on any of the two ports.
Note #4: Only one display supports 3840 × 1080 (Full 3D SBS or 32:9 Super Ultrawide). The second display is limited to 1920 × 1080.
