NOTE: Since XREAL Beam does not come with the Google Play Store, you won't be able to download Tasker thru the traditional way. APK sites won't work either since they use the Google Play version which requires Google Play Services as well as a license purchase. Thankfully, the developers for Tasker have made an alternative method to obtain a license and use Tasker without Google Play Store.
What is tasker?
Tasker is an automation app for Android devices that allows users to create and execute a variety of automated tasks based on specific contexts or conditions.

How to activate license for Tasker?
By default, the direct download version of Tasker includes a 7-day trial. To continue using the app, you'll need to purchase the one-time license either thru Patreon or bulk order.
Getting keys:
Please visit https://taskernet.com/?licenses and link your Patreon account, where you made the license purchase. Note that license keys may take up to an hour to appear. If needed, click on 'Generate missing keys' when that option becomes available.
Activating:
- Open Tasker.
- Navigate to the three-dot menu at the top right of Tasker. In the submenu, select 'More' > 'Order Validation' and enter the key obtained from TaskerNet.
Some extra useful information...
Accessibility services keep getting disabled...
- Some apps require the accessibility service to be enabled. These end up being disabled after a restart or for other reasons. Tasker has a special setting in their settings that automatically enables the accessibility setting for whatever app you choose to auto enable.
- Accessing this setting requires you to go to the three dot menu of Tasker (top right corner)>Preferences>Monitor tab and go to the grey bar that says "Keep Accessibility Running" and choose the apps/plugins you want to enable. I usually enable for all apps/plugins. You can test it out by going to Android settings of XREAL Beam>Accessibility>clicking on whatever app and disabling the accessibility service for that app/plugin....then you'll see it automatically reenable. That's Tasker doing it's magic of keeping the accessibility service enabled for any app/plugins you wish to keep enabled.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Tasker maximum tasks queued..
- Tasker has a limit of tasks that can be executed at once which is at default set to 10. I have set this to 20 just so it's enough to not be problems.
- Go to the three dot menu of Tasker (top right corner)>Preferences>Action tab and go to maximum tasks queed and set it at 20 or however much you want but not too much to be a problem to XREAL Beam's performance.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Tasker resource usage disabled by default...
- Tasker has enabled the reduce resource usage option by default. When enabled, Tasker will reduce resource usage relating to some functionality which can mean a reduction in performance for some of the functions. We want to keep this disabled.
- Go to the three dot menu of Tasker (top right corner)>Preferences>Misc tab and go to where it says "Reduce Resource Usage" and disable the option.

Note: Re-signing up and obtaining a new license key immediately isn't possible. If you choose to cancel your subscription shortly after your initial contribution, you'll need to wait for a month or create a new Patreon account and contribute the amount you choose to contribute for obtaining the license(s). Afterward, you must link the new Patreon account to the TaskerNet licenses page. Explore the section on the left side of this page to discover other apps/plugins available for direct purchase.

How to install Tasker?
Make sure to have "Install unknown apps" enabled for the browser or w/e app (APKPure) you have installed. You can access the settings related to installing apps from unknown sources on Android in two ways. First, you can quickly locate them by typing "unknown" in the search bar at the top of Android settings and navigating to "install unknown apps." Alternatively, you can manually find this option by going to "Apps & Notifications," then selecting "Special App Access," and finally choosing "Install unknown apps." From there, you can specify the app, such as your browser or APK store, that you wish to grant permission to install apps from unknown sources.
- Go to this TaskerNet link to install the apk file for Tasker for direct purchase.
- If you don't know how to install apk files, go to this page (opens new tab) and follow the instructions.
- Check mark all the steps that show up when first launching Tasker.
- Activate Tasker by following the instructions on the left side of this page titled "How to activate license for Tasker?"
- Check out the automations I've created for tasker under this link (opens new tab).
Some automations require Tasker plugins. One of the automations listed there requires AutoInput. To install AutoInput, go to this link and go down to AutoInput. You'll have to have a seperate license for each plugin (obtained the same way for Tasker) and activate that license for each plugin you wish to use. Make sure to disable battery optimization and enable all necessary permissions. Also, make sure to enable accessibility option for AutoInput, Tasker and other plugins. These get disabled automatically after restart. Look at the left side of this page under "Some extra useful information..." for more info on how to keep accessibility services enabled for each app/plugin.
